Schedule and alerts
Check a site every week or whenever your tag manager container changes, and hear about new problems in Slack, Teams, a webhook or by email.
Hive Check can run on its own, every week or when a new version of your Google Tag Manager container goes live. When a check finds a new critical or high problem, it raises a health issue, and you choose where you hear about it.
Schedule checks
Schedules are for monitored sites. A site that only had a one-off check says "Monitor this site first to schedule checks".
- Open the site under Tools → Hive and select the Schedule tab.
- Under Automatic checks, turn on Check this site every week.
- Choose the day and the hour, for example Every Monday at 09:00 UTC. Times are in UTC.
- Optionally, turn on Re-check when a new Google Tag Manager version is published.
- Select Save schedule.
The tab then shows Next check with the date and time, and the Next check column under Monitored sites shows it too. Select Discard to undo changes you haven't saved.
Re-checking on publish watches the live version of the Google Tag Manager containers on the site. When a new version goes live, Hive queues a check, which shows Tag manager publish under Started by in the History tab.
Website & tags in Health
Open Health in the app. The Website & tags category lists the tracking, consent and tag problems Hive Check found on your website. It reads No problems found when there are none.
Each issue shows the Website and the Problem, with a link to Open the Hive Check report. An issue resolves when a later check no longer finds the problem. So after you fix it, run Hive Check again.
Alerts in Slack, Teams or a webhook
- On the site's Schedule tab, under Alerts, select set up a health alert. This opens Health → Alerts with website check problems already chosen. You can also open Health and select Alerts.
- Select New health alert.
- Under Destination, choose Slack, Teams, Discord or Webhook.
- Under Trigger, choose Health check fired, to hear when a problem is found, or Health check resolved, to hear when it clears.
- Under Configure, fill in the details, such as the channel or the address to send to, and save.
The alert names the problem and the website, and links to the report.
For Slack, see also Slack. For webhooks in general, see Webhooks.
Each person chooses whether they get an email:
- Open Settings → Account → Notifications. The your notification settings link on the Schedule tab opens it with the setting highlighted.
- Turn on Hive Check new problems.
You then get an email when Hive Check finds new critical or high problems on a site your project checks.
